Local Holiday Parade Guide

The busy holiday season is almost upon us, and we’ve got your local holiday parade guide to keep you in the know. Small towns across North Metro Atlanta will be celebrating the season with parades and festivals. Here are just a few of our favorites close to home:

Gwinnett Historic Courthouse Lighting of the Tree & Parade – Come to downtown Lawrenceville at the Historic Courthouse on Thanksgiving Night – Thursday, November 22 – for the annual tree lighting and Santa’s parade. There will be performances, food vendors, holiday shopping, and photos with Santa. It all starts at 5:30 pm. For more information, go to http://www.lawrencevillega.org/ or call 770-822-5450.

Braselton Annual Parade and Traditional Lighting of the Tree – Visit historic Downtown Braselton on Saturday, November 17th. Events begin with the parade at 10:30 am, include shopping with specially selected vendors until 5 pm, and conclude with the tree lighting at the Braselton Brothers Store at 7 pm. Downtown Jefferson’s Annual Christmas Parade – Watch local schools, businesses, and churches march in the City of Jefferson’s annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 1st at 1 pm. Complete with an appearance by Santa Claus, the parade will start at Memorial Stadium and travel all the way through historic downtown Jefferson. For more information, go to www.cityofjefferson.com.

Snellville Annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting – It happens Saturday, November 24th, with the parade underway at 5:30, beginning on Wisteria Lane to the Towne Green and on to City Hall. The tree lighting will take place at the Towne Green and will include kid’s crafts, s’mores roasting, photos with Santa, and caroling. Buford Business Alliance Holiday Festival and Parade – Visit historic downtown Buford on Saturday, December 1st for the 1,500-person parade right down Main Street at 11 am.  Stop and stay awhile to shop and eat at the 80-100 booth festival and enjoy the stage with local musical performances until 4 pm. Lawrenceville’s Hometown Christmas Parade – Presented by United Community Bank, this is Lawrenceville’s second parade of the season! It begins at 7 pm on December 14th, traveling through the Lawrenceville square and the rest of the city’s downtown area, complete with an appearance by Santa Claus.
