Love Where You Live: Upcoming Events in Gwinnett

Posted by Blog Admin on Wednesday, February 14th, 2018 at 1:13pm.

Gwinnett County is a great place to live, work, and play, and there are plenty of special events in the next few weeks to make you fall even more in love with where you live.

First, for those still looking for last minute Valentine’s plans, check out the list put together by Lawrenceville Patch.  Hint: You still have time to plan a weekend getaway and surprise your loved one with a thoughtful gift! Don’t count on getting dinner reservations, though.

Need a family-friendly way to celebrate winter before spring is officially here? Until February 24th, you can go Galactic Snow Tubing at Stone Mountain, where music, laser beams, and LED lights surround you as you race down snow mountain.  Time slots begin after 4:30pm. Check available time slots and book yours at www.stonemountainpark.com.

For those looking even farther ahead, there are two great food festivals/competitions coming to Gwinnett in March.

Love barbecue?  Put the Sip & Swine BBQ Festival on your calendar. It happens in Lawrenceville on March 2nd and 3rd. Admission is free but you can be a part of the People’s Choice Judging by purchasing a Taster Kit for just $10.  Even better is that 100% of the proceeds from the event will be donated to Home of Hope at the Gwinnett Children’s Shelter.  Events like this are part of why the sense of community is so celebrated in Gwinnett.

Is low country cooking more to your taste? Check out Muddbugs and Music at the Duluth town green on March 31st. The cost to attend is just $15, and includes endless crawfish, live music, and a beer garden. Kids under 10 are free with adult admission. This family-friendly event is brought to you by Rock 100.5 and Kicks 101.5, so you know there will be top-notch music in addition to the crawfish and low-country boil.
