Buyers during the fall season are highly motivated to find a home quickly. Most would prefer to be settled in before the busy holiday season arrives. This year is no different, and there are, perhaps, more buyers than in previous years looking to make a quick move. How can you make your home stand out from the rest? Check out these four easy tips sellers can use this fall to make their homes more welcoming that at any other time of year:

1.  Turn Up the Lights

As the days grow shorter, it becomes more important than ever to let your home’s light shine. Before each showing, turn on the lights in each room. Replace dingy bulbs and clean light fixtures so that soft, white light fills each space. Make your home a welcoming sanctuary on a dark evening, and home shoppers will take notice.

2.  Use Seasonal Scents

Fall brings cinnamon and apple pie, freshly baked cookies, and pumpkin spice everything. Use some of those seasonal scents in your home, whether in an air freshener, candles, or real cookies in the oven. But remember not to use too many competing scents. Every room does not need its own flavor!

3.  Light a Fire

Nothing says “cozy” like a crackling fire. If your home has a fireplace, light it up when you know buyers will be visiting. Especially for late afternoon or early evening showings, a fire will be welcoming and warm after a cool fall day.

4.  Simple Autumnal Décor

Bring some of the outdoors in but keep it simple. A few well-placed pumpkins, colorful mums, and a wreath with fall colors are all you need. Don’t go overboard, even if fall is your favorite season.
