Looking for a fun, family-friendly event to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? This Saturday, March 17th, throw on something green and head out to one (or more!) of these exciting events close to home:
Shake Your Shamrock
Held at the Mall of Georgia in Buford on Saturday from 6 to 9 pm, there will be Irish-themed fun for both kids and adults at the Shake Your Shamrock event. Over 21? Enjoy themed cocktails and beer from local restaurants. Kids will love the free St. Paddy’s Day crafts, bounce houses, and games. The Drake School of the Irish will perform with traditional Irish music, too. Click the link above for all the details.
St. Paddy’s Day PathFest & PathQuest
Take a trip into Braselton this Saturday for the 2nd Annual St. Paddy’s Day PathFest & PathQuest. The event begins at 10am and runs until 4pm. Discover shamrocks, leprechauns, and clues along Braselton’s LifePath and enjoy the Path Parade, where golf carts, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, wagons, and walking groups will be decked out in their St. Patrick’s Days finest. Look closely and you’ll see two PSP golf carts celebrating great communities in the area where new homes are available NOW. Then enjoy PathQuest, where geocaching meets scavenger hunt. You’ll explore the LifePath’s six commercial districts and winners will receive prizes! Visit www.braselton.net for more details.
Suwanee Beer Fest
The Suwanee Beer Fest, held each year to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, is billed as Gwinnett County’s biggest and best Paddy’s Day festival. It happens from 1pm to 5pm this Saturday in the Suwanee Towne Center. Sample over 350 craft beers, including debuts of new and hard-to-find varieties. Delicious food from dozens of vendors will be available, and there will be Irish music and dance and plenty of backyard games. Tickets are $55 until Friday, March 16th. Prices rise to $60 on the day of the event, so it pays to plan ahead. Go to www.suwaneebearfest.com for more details and to purchase tickets.
Atlanta St. Patrick’s Day Parade
No list of Metro Atlanta events would be complete without the 136th Annual Atlanta St. Patrick’s Parade, one of the oldest St. Patrick’s Day parades in the US and the longest-running parade in Atlanta. It happens this Saturday, March 17th at noon, rain or shine. This family-friendly event will feature elaborate floats, authentic bagpipe music, drum corps, drill teams, Irish dancers, and so much more. The parade begins at the Woodruff Arts Center and ends at 5th Street. Plan to arrive early for a good viewing spot. No matter what you do this weekend, we hope you enjoy it. Spring is just around the corner, and we can’t wait to get outside and enjoy it!
