Nature Scavenger Hunt for Families and Children

This FREE scavenger hunt happens Saturday, October 21st at the Roswell Road City of Atlanta Public Park.  Families are invited to uncover the treasures of the forest right in the midst of the city. Led by a Blue Heron naturalist, the scavenger hunt will trek through shady woodland habitat looking for special rocks, leaves, acorns, flowers and pinecones. Learn about migrating birds and all kinds of insects, but come dressed in clothes that can get dirty and bring plenty of water.

Families are encouraged to stay for the Fall Open House events after the scavenger hunt concludes to create a fun nature craft in the Children’s Garden at 11am. Show up bright and early on Saturday morning to explore Atlanta’s natural side at this fun, free event designed for the whole family to enjoy.

There is always something unique and fun (and often FREE) happening in Metro Atlanta. For more ways to enjoy the fun in your own backyard, visit www.eventbrite.com and www.exploregeorgia.org. They are a great resource for events and festivals across the area.
