Happening in Gwinnett This Weekend

Posted by Blog Admin on Thursday, April 4th, 2019 at 4:07pm.

Flowers are blooming, bees are buzzing, and it’s time to get outside and enjoy the spring weather in Gwinnett County. We found a few fun events happening close to home this weekend to round out your Spring Break 2019.

Farm Adventure Day

Alegre Farm in Dacula is celebrating spring with its Farm Adventure Day on Friday, April 5th starting at 10am. Take guided tours of fun, educational stations, enjoy the petting zoo, feed the animals, and groom the pony. You can even milk a goat! Learn about conservation and take a tractor ride around the 15-acre farm. Pony rides are just $5. Bring your own lunch and be ready for a day of fun on the farm, located at 2225 Givens Road, Dacula.

Gwinnett Stripers Baseball

Support your local minor league team at Opening Day, today, Thursday, April 4th. The first game of the season starts at 7:05 p.m. against the Norfolk Tides at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville. Prices start at just $8.  You can also catch the game on Friday, April 5th with the Striper’s Mardi Gras Night, where there will be music, great creole food, and the first firework display of the season.

Everett’s Music Barn Spring Festival and Fundraiser

Celebrating 50+ years of bluegrass music, Everett’s Music Barn Spring Festival in Suwanee is your opportunity to support local musicians. The music starts at noon and will go well past dark, with raffle drawings between bands. The more you give, the more chances you have to win, all while supporting local arts. There will be an old-fashioned covered dish dinner on the grounds at 5pm. Bring your favorite dish to share! Find more information at www.everettsmusicbarn.net.

Tree-Top Quest

Visit the Gwinnett Environmental Center for Tree-Top Quest, where you can challenge yourself on ropes, ladders, zip lines, and bridges in the tree tops. This is an up-close and personal experience with the environment that will let you see the forest like you’ve never seen it before. Designed to be both fun and educational, there are environmental questions and answers throughout the course.  Visit https://www.treetopquest.com/gwinnett/ for tickets, reservations, group rates, hours of operation, and other information.

It's great to live, work, and play in Gwinnett County! With so many events, festivals, and adventures throughout the year, it's easy to love where you live.
