At PSP, we’re gearing up for REALTOR Safety Month in September, and just in case you were not present for our continuing education class entitled, “Real Estate Assault Awareness,” here are some of the important points that you missed:

The class instructor was Ken Malcolm, a 32-year veteran of the Covington Police Department and Criminology Professor at Georgia State University. Malcolm started the course by saying there are two types of “bad guys:” the opportunist and the predator.  “Both love to target real estate professionals,” he said. “Of all the courses you’ll take, this one is the most important.”

While an opportunist will be encouraged to action when the right circumstances present themselves, a predator acts with forethought and

Peggy Slappey Properties’ August Sales Meeting showcased two of the brokerage’s top producing agents:  Wayne Kelley for New Home Sales, and John Slappey for General Brokerage/Resales.  The two agents fielded questions that ran from “What is the best marketing tool you use to promote yourself?” to “How do you survive the lean times?” In case you missed it, here are the highlights:

John Slappey made the switch from new home sales to general brokerage during the most recent market downturn.  The change was out of necessity, as he branched out into resales, short sales, and rental management.  He stressed the importance of choosing a system for lead generation and sticking to it. “You’ve got to have discipline,” he said.  “Personal accountability is

Timetra Abram

Timetra Abram has both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in psychology. She’s been a REALTOR for almost a year and says she wouldn’t trade it for the world. Her father has been a broker for over 15 years, so she grew up hearing real estate lingo and learned a lot just by being in a real estate family.

She loves the smiles her work puts on her clients’ faces once they’ve found and closed on their dream homes.  Timetra is engaged and expecting twin girls soon. She spends her free time with family and loves vacation time with them.
